Serendipity
Maggie and I went down to Millenium Park and took some pictures. I've declared my FZ8 officially too noisy to use, so for the occasional shot I felt like capturing, I'd steal her D40x from around her neck. This is one of the shots.
I'm currently bidding on a used XT with a 50mm f1.8 on eBay. Neither the camera nor lens is too phenomenal, but for the sub-$300 price range, I'll take it. Hopefully that'll tide me over until summer when I get my 40D.
And for those counting at home, this is the 8th camera I've used on my Flickr.

Nikon D300 as a pinhole camera
This is the one of the most expensive pinhole cameras in the world :). It may sound ridiculous to make a pinhole camera out of an expensive fully electronic machine. But why not? It costs nearly nothing assuming you have already a Nikon cap (which are sometimes stupidly sold to extremely high prices). It also offers a very nice opportunity to learn about optics and develop some "do it yourself" skills.
